After cooking and eating dinner together we make our way to the kitchen to clean up. You do most of the dishes as I search the internet for a song you practically beg me to find, only giving me the tune to one line of the song and two words. I find it, ending your two year search and making you grin and sing along. I switch places with you to tackle the cleaning of the pots. As I scrub and scrub away you slowly creep up behind me, You pull me away from the sink and I reluctantly follow as you spin me around. When we face each other, you pull my hands into place and start dancing with me. Your face is covered in a grin and I can’t stop laughing as you quickly move me. I look up into your eyes and I see us. They look past the present and jump to the future, dancing in the kitchen as our children smile and giggle, watching us from a distance. You place a kiss on my lips and I’m home.
